I have always had a passion for ballet and have trained in Halifax since the age of 3. At the age of 14 I started professional training with Dorothy Stevens, a highly skilled Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examiner in Halifax. At this school I gained vocational examinations in RAD Ballet, ISTD, Modern and National. I also won scholarships with Friends of Dance North, John Field Ballet Seminar and was awarded a place on the Yorkshire Dance Ballet Scholarship programme.
I have worked as a professional Catwalk Model since the age of 15 for over 17 years. I continue to have strong links with Morton Gledhill Agency in Huddersfield.
In 2012 I graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Early Childhood Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This qualification has enabled me to teach in primary and Montessori schools in Calderdale, Bradford and Kirklees.
Alongside studying for my PGCE I completed the 2 year Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (CBTS) course with the Royal Academy of Dance. I am now a registered teacher with the RAD and have entered many children for RAD examinations. RJSBALLET has a 100% pass rate with the vast majority of students gaining honours in exams.
I enjoy being a member of the RAD Northern Region Committee and an RAD, CPD ambassador for the UK. The Royal Academy of Dance inspires me to keep learning and growing. I am actively working towards becoming a Royal Academy of Dance examiner. I am committed to giving my students the best possible ballet training and making sure that RJSBALLET is a leader in education in the dance world. I aim to inspire young people to achieve their dreams and help them to understand that anything is possible with a dream and commitment.
"If you can dream it, you can achieve it".
I look forward to welcoming you to the RJS Ballet family.
